Hanmer Springs & North Canterbury Fly Fishing

North Canterbury Fly Fishing

Inland Hunters specialise in guided fishing trips on the rivers of North Canterbury. The North Canterbury region is bounded on one side by the high Southern Alps and the other by the Pacific Ocean.

The large braided rivers that rise in the mountains and then cross the Canterbury Plains to the sea offer spectacular sport fishing opportunities. Indeed these rivers are the principle salmon fisheries in New Zealand. In addition to the braided rivers, there are numerous lakes and streams. The six major river systems of interest to anglers include the Waiau, Hurunui, Ashley, Waimakariri, Selwyn and Rakaia.
